FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN URBAN AREAS PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY given that pursuant to the relevant individual local authority bylaw, the lighting of fires in the open within the areas scheduled below is PROHIBITED from and including Wednesday, December 1, 1982 until Monday, February 28, 1983, or such earlier date as may be publicly notified. PLEASE NOTE: The restriction does not apply to hangis or barbecues provided all other aspects of the relevant bylaw are complied with. (Check with your Council Office as to minimum distances from boundaries and' buildings, provision of high pressure water, etc.) The willing co-operation of all residents is sought to minimise the danger from fires during the remaining summer period.
