EXPEDITION TO ANTARCTIC HEARD ISLAND A GROUP of 18 radio-amateurs (DX-ERS) and Scientists of the Heard Island DX Association (HIDXA) are undertaking an expedition to the island for a stay of approx. 2 weeks, departing from Hobart, Tasmania, on the ex-whaler Cheynes II in the first week of January, 1983. Total duration is expected to be approx. 7 weeks. Applications are invited from scientists or other interested parties to participate. An initial contribution of S3OOO is expected of each expeditloner. Refund of a part of this may be possible after return to Hobart.
