Nuhaka planting completed
The planting of the Nuhaka forest has been completed, according to the report of the Nuhaka Farm Forestry Fund for . the six months ended September 30. Activities for the period have been.— © The planting of 143.9 hectares on the Rakau and Kawera blocks, in line with the budget target giving a total planted auea of 1687.9 hectares. © Releasing was undertaken over 67.1 "hectares of the 1982 plantings, with a slight saving in costs as against budget. • Tending has been carried
out in accordance with the planned work programme and to meet the over-all management plan established in 1980. Actual expenditure on opearations for the six months to September 30 was $109,000 which compared favourably with the budget forecast. the managers say. Work for the second six months will involve mainly: Releasing, 38.5 hectares, and tending as follows: Low prune and thin 43 hectares of 1974 plantings; low prune 144 hectares of 1975 and 1976 plantings; low prune and thin 95 hectares of 1977 and 1978 plantings; high prune 23 hectares of 1975 plantings.
