Hamblett first off today
The Christchurch-based professional, Peter Hamblett, is the first off today of those at or near the head of the field. He is scheduled to start at 8,06 a.m. The top amateur and a coleader, Grant Waite, is to start at 8.33 a.m. Stuart Reese will begin at 9 a.m. and lan Baker-Finch is with
Simon Owen at 9.09 a.m. Stewart Ginn is 18 minutes later. The next top contender is Ken Tarling at 11.24 a.m. Two groups and 18 minutes later come Bob Charles and Bob Shearer. Straight after -
them Mike Harwood and Maurice Bembridge are together and Robert Stephens is at 12.09 p.m.
Art Russell starts at 12.36 p.m. followed by John Clifford and Kel Nagle. John Lister is at 1.30 p.m. in company with lan Mosey, a son of the well-known 8.8. C. cricket commentator, Don Mosey. Jack Newton and Billy Dunk are with the 1981 , amateur champion, Terry Cochrane.
