Petrol tax
President (Ronald Reagan has given his support to a 5c a gallon petrol tax to finance repairs to United States roads, bridges and mass transit systems. Mr Reagan insisted this was “not a jobs bill” but said:. “Obviously there will be some employments, with. it.” The top leaders of the House of Representatives *and Senate agreed v that the petrol tax should be passed specifically as a jobs-creating bill in a brief special session of Con-gress-Washington. '•
