Consultant advice for projects
The Canterbury United Council will engage a marketing consultant to help it arrive at ideas for regional employment and tourism projects. Ms Diana Shand, of Christchurch, will organise a “brainstorming” session next month to explore a wide range of ideas about ways to create employment. The United Council also wants more details of Ms Shand’s ideas about setting up a central resource centre geared for action on unem-
ployment. Such a centre could supply market information, marketing services, an equipment pool and other services. As a consultant, Ms Shand has specialised in the tourist industry in addition to teaching marketing and helping small businesses and nonprofit organisations. She has a master’s degree in business administration from a Canadian university, and is a former University of Canterbury lecturer in marketing.
