Vauxhall improves
NZPA •” London While New Zealand car industry workers face redundancies and extended holiday shutdowns, Vauxhall workers at two British plants are to work week-end over-time shifts.until at least Christmas because of a dramatic rise in car sales..
Early indications are that in the first 10 months of this year, Vauxhall sales increased by 42,500 of which 76 per cent were built in Britain.
Vauxhall last month took 12.7 per cent of the British car market, including imports of cars from its sister company, Opel, in Germany. In October last year the company took 8 per cent.
