Queen Mother home The Queen Mother has left hospital in London looking fit and well less than 48 hours after an operation to remove a fish bone lodged deep in her throat. The great-grand-mother, aged 82, showed no signs of bruising to the neck said to have been caused during her operation by a surgeon, Dr Alan Fuller, at the King Edward VII Hospital for The Queen Mother, who smiled and waved to well-wishers briefly on the steps of the hospital, wore a blue dress and coat open at the neck, with a double row of pearls. — London. The Brazilian Government has taken no decision on whether to seek a stand-by loan from the International Monetary Fund, said a Planning Ministry spokesman. Water restrictions are likely to be imposed in Melbourne soon for the first time in almost 10 years. The Supply Minister, Mr David White, has warned that the restrictions could get tougher and last for a long time. Volcano drama An Air Nauru Boeing 727 jet with 47 people on board suffered minor cracks in its flight deck windows while passing over an active volcano in Japan. The aircraft landed safely at a nearby airport after the incident. — Kagoshima.
