General forecast: The anti-cyclone in the north Tasman Sea is slowmoving; a strong westerly airstream persists over New Zealand, with scattered showers expected to persist in western districts of both islands and the far south of the South Island; mainly fine and warm in the east;, gusty westerly or north-westerly winds should continue, strong in many places, from Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay southwards.
