The Appointee will be required to assume responsibilities for the direction, co-ordination and control of civil defence measures throughout New Zealand. This is a challenging position at a time when a new National Civil Defence School is being established, as well as other developments being considered. Qualifications require a good administrative background; experience of planning and organisation at a senior level, and ability to direct operations in an emergency situation.
