Sydney quiet
NZPA SydneyShare prices fell in quiet trading on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday in line with Wall Street, brokers said. The all-ordinaries index dropped 2.1 points to 513.0, the all-industrials 1.1 to 645.4, and the all-resources 2.9 points to 406.2. Small losses took B.H.P. to 702 c, CSR to 315 c. C.R.A. to 395 c, M.I.M. to 372 c, W.M.C. to 345 c, and North Broken Hill to 242 c. Pancontinental lost 5c to 135 c. Gold stocks were easier and quiet with Central Norseman down 10c at 700 c and Peko and Emperor 5c lower.
Oil and gas issues finished little changed after an afternoon rally. Bridge added 10c to 320 c, as did Crusader to 600 c. Ampol Exploration dropped 5c to 225 c and Woodside fell 3c to 86c.
