Deadline extended
Strong public interest has caused the deadline for submissions on the recent report into rehabilitation services in New Zealand to be extended until November 30. The report by a former Chief of Defence Staff, Sir Richard Bolt, and a former Assistant Director-General of health, Mr Eric Heggie, recommended several improvements to the rehabilitation system. The demand for the report was so great that a reprint was needed.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Mr Young, said that the Officials Committee on Family and Social Affairs would continue to accept submissions for another month.
The report’s recommendations and the public comments will go to the Cabinet Committee on Family and Social Affairs.
