Easier N.Z. market
Share prices eased in moderately active trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. The N.Z.U.C. index lost 2.54 points to close at 644.41. BNZ Finance rose 5c to 320 c after announcing an excellent interim result, and Wilson and Horton firmed 10c to 460 c in ’spite of reporting a slight decline in its half-yearly profit. The mining and oil sector was not boosted by the natural gas find in Taranaki. Coal and Energy eased 1c ex rights, and L and M Oil lost 2c.
