Akaroa activities

Sir,—Your October 25 report which said that visitors to Akaroa over the wet Labour Day week-end “found themselves with nothing to do but drive around in the rain” missed a lot of good things. Akaroa’s fine museum was open all week-end. So were many art and craft shops with interesting Peninsula-made handicrafts. Akaroa’s historic churches were packed on Sunday. About 500 people who enjoyed lunch or dinner at Akaroa Village’s licensed restaurant could use the indoor heated swimming pool or spa. Children could play video games. The weather was certainly disappointing but Akaroa has much to offer in all

weather. Its unique charm provides a warm welcome and pleasant change at any time — Yours, etc., DR N. GRENFELL, Marketing director, Akaroa Village Resort, Ltd. October 25, 1982.
