Abortion clinic
Sir, — How long are we to endure the pseudo facts and pseudo logic of your anti-abor-tion correspondents? I have yet to read one letter from them that carries the emotional sincerity and humanity of those who have faced that painful decision for themselves. I have yet to see one piece of honest scientific study or scholarship performed under the anti-abor-tion banner. I have yet to meet one of their number who is familiar with the vast literature on the suppression of women. Yet despite all this I respect their right to decide their own lives, but not the lives of others. The battle over abortion can only be understood in the context of a larger battle — the fight to free ourselves from the tyranny of authoritarian religions. Our weapons can only be honesty and truth. — Yours, etc.,
ALAN WILKINSON. October 26, 1982.
