Chemical claim
A Soviet captive has told Afghan guerrillas that Soviet forces in Afghanistan are using nine types of chemical weapons. According to the report, the weapons have been used extensively in the Bamiyan Province, ’ central Afghanistan. The report was issued by guerrillas belonging to the Hezbi Islami (Islamic Party), believed to be th? best organised and largest of the two dozen insurgent groups opposed to the Soviet-backed regime in Afghanistan. — Islamabad.
