CSR produces more coal
PA Sydney CSR. Ltd. said that it produced 2.9 million tonnes of coal during the quarter ended September 30. compared with 2.5 million tonnes in the same period last year. Other production results were mixed, with iron ore produced for railing bv the Mt Newman venture in Western Australia easing to 5.8 million tonnes from 6.9 million tonnes and copper concentrate produced at Mt Gunson in South Australia rising to 3.6 million tonnes from 3.5 million tonnes. Gove Aluminium's share of bauxite mined at Gove in the Northern Territory increased to 600.000 tonnes from 504.000 tonnes, but tin concentrate produced at the Pt Koba mine in Indonesia declined to 111.000 tonnes from 171.000 tonnes.
The amount of gold produced at the Meekatharra mine in Western Australia by Whim Creek Consolidated NL was higher at 113.1 kg. compared \ with 96.17 kg previously.
AAR. Ltd. and Seram produced 5.1 million barrels of crude oil in Indonesia, compared with 6.4 million barrels previously, and AAR's share of gas from the Roma fields in Queensland rose to 50.6 million cubic metres from 47.4 million cubic metres.
CSR also reported that Delhi Petroleum. Ltd's share of Cooper Basin production for the quarter was 215 million cubic metres of gas. compared with 412 million cubic metres for the halfyear to September 30 last vear.
Condensate transferred to storage amounted to 21.000 barrels. compared with 35.000 barr ls tor the halfyear ended September 30 last vear.
In its quarterly mining report. CSR also said that construction at the Dravton coal mine site in New South Wales was progressing well. The group said that the outcome of the bids to conduct petroleum exploration over certain offshore blocks in the Pearl River basin in the People’s Republic of China was expected earlv next year.
It said construction and commissioning of the in-situ leaching pilot uranium plant at Honeymoon, in South Australia.' were expected to be completed during this month.
CSR also reported that about 7900 tonnes of ore had been hoisted from underground at the Paringa gold mine at Kalgoorlie in Western Australia and stockpiled. "Construction of the crushing and screening plant is nearing completion, and commissioning has begun." the group said.
