Mr Anthony due to meet P.M.

NZPA Canberra The Australian Trade and Resources Minister, Mr Doug Anthony, will fly to NewZealand today hoping to end negotiations on closer economic relations between the two countries. Officials at the departmental head level met for two days in Canberra last week in preparation for the meeting. According to reports in Canberra. Mr Anthony will tell Mr Muldoon that Australia is prepared to accept the timetables for the ending of New Zealand export incentives and import licensing, provided Australia receives better access to the

New- Zealand market from the beginning. The Australian side is believed to have achieved a number of concessions on items New Zealand wanted excepted from C.E.R. or deferred from inclusion. The newsletter, “Inside Canberra.” said it believed that the Australian whitegoods industry did well from the talks. Australian officials hope that Mr Anthony and Mr Muldoon will reach a deal this week which will be approved by the Cabinets of both countries fairly quickly. This would allow C.E.R. to function from January 1 next year.
