Games sale misses
PA Auckland A Commonwealth Games fund-raising sale held during the week-end at the Auckland Showgrounds fell well short of its $50,000 target, said the sale's organiser, Mr David Ramage, yesterday. About 16,000 people attended the sale over the three days. Each adult paid
$1 to enter, to be put towards the cost of sending New Zealand's team to the recent Games in Brisbane.' Mr Ramage said he still counted the effort a success. At least 80 firms and charities put goods on sale at cost. More fund-raising efforts would be made to meet the Games deficit.
