General forecast: A slow-moving trough of low pressure will bring occasional showers to most districts tomorrow and Thursday, but it should be mainly fine on the West Coast. District forecast: Canterbury: Fresh southerlies; cloudy, cold and showery; snow down to 1000 metres. Marlborough: Fresh southerlies about the coast, light winds inland; showers about the Kaikoura coast,

spreading elsewhere at times. Nelson, Buller: Moderate variable winds; some showers, chiefly about the ranges; cool. Westland: Southerlies, fresh in exposed places; snow in the mountains, but mainly fine on the coast. Outlook: Mainly fine in Nelson, Buller and Westland; little change in Marlborough; occasional showers in Canterbury.
