Fishing fees up
PA Wellington The Government has increased annual licence fees for foreign fishing boats. For jig-caught squid the fee has been raised from $14,250 to $15,000 a boat, plus an increase from $95 to $lOO a tqnne for ships taking more than 150 tonnes.
Trawl-caught squid fees are up from $7O to $B3 a tonne. long-line-caught albacore and yellowfin tuna $l5OO to s3ooo'. and long-line-caught southern bluefin tuna from $27,000 to $36,000. The fees were amended under the Exclusive Economic Zone Regulations and have been gazetted.
