School table tennis final
The Shirley Boys’ High School team of Tim Hanrahan, Karl Entwistle and Darrin Entwistle was beaten. 7-4 by Wellington College in the final of the national inter-secondary schools table tennis competition.
The top-ranked New Zealand under-16 player. Robert Kerr..paved the way for. the Wellington side's victory by winning all his three singles. Hanrahan, with two singles wins, was Shirley’s most successful player.
