China raps U.S. over arms aid
NZPA Peking China has for the first time accused President
Ronald Reagan of violating the August Sino-American communique that included an American pledge to limit military aid to Taiwan. The New China News Agency said that Mr Reagan’s recent statement that such aid would continue until a peaceful settlement is reached on unification of Taiwan and the mainland was an “obvious violation" of the communique.
