Marriage on mind of beaten Hayes
PA Auckland Seventh seeded Rod Hayes, with marriage on his mind, was beaten in the New Zealand Open squash tournament at the Henderson club yesterday by the unseeded Neven Barbour (Henderson). The Christchurch player lost 3-9, 1-9, 9-7, 9-10 in the . second round. On Saturday, ■ Hayes had been extended by Blair Hargreaves (Remuera) 3-9, 9-2, 3-9. 9-1, 9-6.
Hayes, who is to marry the New Zealand netball repre-
sentative. Adrienne Prattley on October 23, said after his match against Barbour that he should have gone home last week. “I had no enthusiasm to play the match, in spite of the fact that I knew it was an important one as far as my ranking was concerned."
