Junior basketball move
The Canterbury Basketball Association has appointed a steering committee to help reorganise its junior competitions in Christchurch. Increasing problems, including larger numbers of teams and a greater need for more facilities and organisation, prompted the association to form the steering committee. The committee will meet this week and will put recommendations to a meeting of the association on October 19. The steering committee will be headed by a life member of the association I and a former president, Mr Ray Thomson. Mr Albie Thompson, another life member and a former president, is another committee member. Others are Messrs Doug McNeil, John Caldwell, lan Simpson, Warrick Hobbs and Murray Mackay, and Mesdames Patricia King and Kay English.
