Farnell's renowned Gerberas The Transvaal Daisy has come a long way since the Farnell family became interested over 40 years ago. The size, colour range and form have steadily improved over decades distinguished by prizes and awards. Arthur Farnell's skill is behind every Gerbera sold from his Kumeu nursery, the Gerberas he expresses to Gardenway. Up to now most of us have had to make do with ordinary Gerberas. Now Farnell's are producing Gerberas in commercial quantities from their famous seed strain. These are not sparsely leaved plants in little pots but lusty plants in shrub grower's PB3 planter bags and each shows flower buds with at least one bud near to flower. \ They're big plants at a modest price. The dark-eyed beauties in our illustration with one or two rows of petals are the $3.99 specimens. Those showing serried rows of petals are $4.50. The exceptionally large flowers, paraded bn strong stems include red, pink, cream, orange and yellow hues. Gerberas are justly popular. Given a place in full sun and soil which is well drained you can expect a bed of ; Gerberas to flower at least 6 months of the year and sometimes continuously ■ for 12 months. Farnells have passed on some tips for greater satisfaction which we've put together in "one pager", free with your Gerbera purchase. And we've added our own unique contribution — the Gardenway guarantee. "Happy results or we refund on the spot, cheerfully, without fuss."
