The presenter of "Kaleidoscope." Angela D’Audney. will return to television news as a reporter-newscaster next year. She will present the 5.50 p.m. news on Two. and work as back-up newscaster for Philip Sherry and Tom Bradley. Miss D’Audney. an experienced journalist, will also work in news-gathering and producing feature material for the regional and
nationwide programmes. The controller of news, current affairs and sport. Mr Bruce Crossan. said John Havden had resigned to go into business and therefore it was necessary to continue the strength ’of news presentation. “Miss D’Audney has been assisting in this area for the past two years and I’m delighted she has accepted this offer to become a regular
member of the team. Her additional skills of a journalist will be welcomed." he said. John Hayden's last day of duty will be Friday, October 15. and from the following Monday news presentation in "Eye Witness News" will be shared by David Beatson and Karen Sims, the regular presenters of that programme.
