NZPA-Reuter Redruth An inspired performance ’ by the versatile Stuart Barnes was largely responsible for the Fijians crashing z to the sixth defeat of their British rugby union tour on Saturday when they lost 36-6 to South and South West Counties at Redruth. Barnes, normally a fly-half but playing at full-back, scored a try and kicked five conversions and a penalty as , the home side took complete control of the match in the second half The Fijians limited the powerful combined side to a 9-6 lead at halftime, but afterwards were completely Swamped as the heavyweight home pack denied them pos- ’ session, in both the tight and
the loose. Barnes opened the scoring ' with an early try which he converted, but the Fijians hit back immediately with a try from the fly-half, Ratu, which was converted by the full-back Koroduadua. The former England flyhalf. J<?hn Horton, added the extra first-half points for the home side with a dropped goal, and after the’ interval the combined team ran riot. , The Gloucester flanker, Mike- Teague, ran in two tries, while the winger David Trick, and centre, John Palmer, each scored one.
