S.T.D. for Timaru in 1985

Timaru would get subscriber toll dialling facilities in 1985, the Postmaster-Gen-eral. Mr Talbot, told Parliament.
Replying to a question by Sir Basil Arthur (Lab.. Timaru). Mr Talbot said Timaru subscribers would get S.T.D. facilities after the new automatic telephone exchange had been completed. As soon as it had been finished, the South Canterbury area would have S.T.D.
