‘Slam’ chance
PA " Auckland. Brenda Rhodes will have the chance at Middlemore this week of completing her second ‘grand slam* of New Zealand women’s golf. Rhodes teamed with fellow New Zealand representative Jan Arnold on Wednesday to win her third consecutive national foursomes title: On Saturday, she captured her second strokeplay title, Today Rhodes will defend the amateur championship which she has won for the past two years. In the 1980 championships, at Wanganui, she completed the ‘grand slam.’ Last year, she won the foursomes and amateur (matchplay), titles, giving way in the strokeplay to Arnold.
