Top jockey suspended

NZPA Sydney The leading Sydney jockey, Malcolm Johnston, will miss the ride on Kingston Town in the W. S. Cox Plate (2050 m at Moonee Valley next month for the second successive year after his twenty-fifth suspension at the Randwick races on Saturday. Johnston was suspended until October 27 after being found guilty of two separate careless riding charges during the running of the Squatters’ Handicap (1400 m Johnston won the race on the 4-1 favourite Note Of Victory, . but stewards charged him with careless riding after two incidents during the race.
