Everetts to fore in trap shooting
The Everett brothers, Ray and Rex, of Christchurch, dominated events in the Canterbury trap shooting championships at Yaldhurst during the week-end.
Between them the pair picked up six of the eight men's titles at the two-day championships, which drew about 230 entrants from as far afield as Auckland and Balclutha.
Rex Everett, aged 29. won the prestige single-rise competition, as well as the single-barrel and points-score events, while his older brother, Ray. the national coach, won the skeet, ball trap and high-gun events. Ray was also second in the points score contest and third in the single rise. The shoot-off for the singlerise championship lasted more, than 120 targets, with Rex Everett extended by Dave Will, of Timaru. Results were:—
