Randwick premier winner
NZPA Sydney Randwick took its' fifth consecutive Sydney, rugby union premiership" with a 21-12 grand final win over'Warringah at the Sydney Sportsground on Satur : day. Brilliant leadership by the Australian Wallaby captain, Mark Ella, at first five-eighths, was the platform on which Randwick built its victory. Ella had a hand in two of Randwick’s three tries. Twice In the second half he gathered the ball in front of a group of marauding Warringah forwards inside his own quarter, and turned defence into attack. Randwick led Warringah 6-0, through a converted try to the Wallaby flanker, Simon Poidevian, at half-time and stretched its lead to 21-3 midway through the second spell. Warringah rampaged back into the game, but the Randwick defence held for yet another grand final win. Scorers: Randwick 21 (Simon Poidevian 2.
