Hypothermia expert to visit
A Canadian authority on hypothermia, Dr John Havward, will visit Christchurch next week.
He will lecture on the treatment of hypothermia, the condition of lowered deep-body temperature which can lead to unconsciousness and death.
His visit to Christchurch is part of a six-week New Zealand tour aimed at providing the latest information on the treatment of hypothermia. Dr Hayward has spent the last 12 years studying the condition' and has' written several research papers about it. His visit is sponsored by the ‘ Water Safety Council, the Mountain Safety Council, and the Accident Compensation Corporation.
