‘Boat people’ aid
Programmes -to aid "boat people” who leave Vietnam by sea will cost the International Red Cross 990.000 Swiss francs (nearly $NZ650,000) next year, said the League of Red Cross Societies. Launching an appeal for the money, the league said that ’almost 40,000 boat people in southeast Asia were still receiving Red Cross aid.—Geneva.
