Soldering-iron recall
PA Auckland An Auckland company is recalling 4500 soldering irons after tests showed many had faulty wiring. The irons, branded “TestRate." have been on the market for about two months through the Farmers Trading Company, Phillipps and Impey. and P.S.I.S. stores. Purchasers have been advised to return them to the store and collect a full refund. The company which im-
ported the irons from Taiwan, Power Chief Products. of Otahuhu. says it will ship them back to Taiwan. The Auckland Electric Power Board’s chief inspector. Mr Handricks. said one man had had a shock from his iron. Tests on several irons had shown several wiring faults. Mr Handricks commended Power Chief Products for taking immediate action to recall the irons.
