Four international races in N.Z. in January
Four international races for Formula Pacific cars will be conducted in New Zealand in January. The series will open al Baypark. Mount Maunganui. on January 2. and on the following Saturday. January 8. the second race will be the New Zealand Grand Prix at Pukekohe. Feilding will be the venue for the third international. which will be held on the Manfeild circuit on January 16. The ' only South Island international race will be the Lady Wigram Trophy at Christchurch on January 23. Two of the New Zealand races will be declared F.I.A. World Cup New Zealand zone races and the Motorsport Association New Zealand has called for applications from
the four international organisers for their respective races to be considered for the granting of championship status. It is expected that M.A.N.Z. will be in a position to announce its decision shortly. The Australian zone races will be held at Melbourne's Calder circuit on February 6 and at the Adelaide International Raceway on February 13. Each of January's NewZealand international races will carry a stake of about $10.0(19 and the four promoters of the international meetings will again stage the Sports Sedan Series of races which was inaugurated this year. Each of these races will be for a slake of $5OOO.
