$500,000 in stakes for Inter-Doms
The Benson and Hedges Inter-Dominion Championship Grand Final next March will carry a stake of $165,000, the largest ever attached to any horse race in New Zealand. Of this $lOO,OOO will go to the winner. Details of the series were released at a function at Alexandra Park last evening by the president of the Auckland Trotting Club, Mr Ron Robertson. The club expects to pay a minimum of $500,000 in stakes over the four nights on March 12, 16, 19 and 26.
