Big Canty group in running trial
PA Wellington A big group of nine Canterbury runners has been invited to try out for New Zealand's team for next year's world cross-country championships in England. Trials will be held at Paekakariki on February 5. Nineteen men and 13 women are to. be specially invited to the trials, all of whom will have half of their air fares paid for by the association. Those invited are: -

Dunkley (l)tago). S. Hunt. I). Froude (Wellington). K. Maloney. ('. Cullen. R. Dixon. J. Bowden (Auckland). R Edmonds (West Coast North Island). Women: L. Moller. D Rodger. W. Hancock (Waikato). A Audain. A. Roe. 8.. Moore. H Stewari. L. Wilde. ’C. Hughes. M
Belsey (Aucklandi. G. Rear (West Coast North Island). M. O'Connor. S Bruce (Canterbury).
Up to nine men and six women will be named for the championships at Gateshead on March 20.
Eight New Zealand women, two of them substitutes. will be selected for a road relay in Yokohama City on the same day. Three New Zealand officials have been invited to the all expenses paid event, which not surprisingly was accepted.
