Cricket team boast
Sydenham will have plenty of experience at the helm in its bid to improve its position in the Canterbury first grade cricket rankings in the coming season. The club's first XI will be captained by the Northamptonshire - all-rounder. . Bob Carter who is .returning for his third season in .Christ-church.-His .deputy will be the former ■ New Zealand
pace bowler. Bryan Andrews., who has transferred -from Lancaster Park. 1 ’■ Andrews will also be responsible for much of the coaching at Sydenham. His services are expected to be especially valuable because Carter., is also to coach on behalf of the Canterbury Cricket Association and his attendances at club practices might be restricted. : 3--
