ANALYST HERBAGE/SEED YATES RESEARCH wish to make an appointment to the position of Herbage Analyst based at their modern seed laboratory at Courtenay (Darfield, near Christchurch). The appointee will primarily be responsible for the planning and conduct of all herbage and dry matter analyses in our laboratory as required by our plant breeding and agronomic research programmes. We would hope to employ someone experienced in routine laboratory analysis work but who has a good knowledge of the identification of herbage species as disection of trial samples is an integral part of our research programme. As the appointee will also be involved in routine seed testing analyses we. would prefer to employ someone with experience in a seed laboratory also. A suitable applicant would be trained in other seed technology procedures such as controlled deterioration testing. This is a responsible position within our small , laboratory unit. The appointee would report to the supervising seed analyst and would be expected to deputise in her absence.
