The 45-minute late-night programme, called “The Chat Show,” will be produced by Janet Street-Porter, who will also be the host. Ms Street-Porter said at the Edinburgh International TV Festival that the show's aim was to demonstrate how funny women could be when they got together.
“Women on their own are really very entertaining and much more outspoken than men think.” she said. The show, which will be broadcast on commercial Independent Television (ITV) in
London only, will start its five-week run on October 2 in the 11.30 p.m. slot on Fridays.
If the show is a success it will return after Christmas.
