N.Z. market closes on firm note
The New Zealand sharemarket ended on a firm note in moderately active trading yesterday, recovering some of the ground lost earlier in the week. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index rose 4.89 points to close at 658.07, for a net loss on the week of 8.32 points. Command Services Corporation rose 18c to 300 c and PDL Holdings 15c to 320 c, Command after a good result, and PDL because of predictions of a good year. Deanes Industries recovered 7c to 13bc. Regina Confections eased 1c to 32c after splitting its 100 c shares into 20c units. Alliance Textiles. Ballins Rattray, Lane Walker Rudkin, and Yates Corporation stood out among thef 14 falls.
