Shipping news Finance problems for Chinese line
Financial problems in Australia seem to have upset China's first big shipping venture to New Zealand. The “New Zealand Herald” has reported that agents for the Sin Wah Line stopped taking bookings for the line because of its uncertain future. The line started regular scheduled sailings to New Zealand earlier this year and recently had three ships on the run to South-East Asia — the Xinhua Long, the Xinhua George, and the Xinhua Men. A ship from the line called at New Zealand about once every two weeks. Plans were being made to extend the service. A liquidator has been appointed for Sin Wah Shipping Enterprises Pty. Ltd.
