An artist’s impression of a radical new aircraft in the planning stage at Lockheed in the United States. The aircraft, which will have two jumbo jet bodies attached to a single wing, is designed to have a range of 5400 kilometres. It will be powered by six engines, instead of the eight which would be needed for two aircraft with the same sized bodies. The twin-bodied jet is being designed to carry cargo, but a later version is planned to carry up to 2000 passengers.
