General to stay
Major-General Jeremy Moore, the commander of the British troops who recaptured the Falkland Islands from Argentina, has had a reprieve from forced retirement but only for six months. The Defence Ministry says that General Moore, aged 54, due to retire next month to make way for a younger man, will spend the next six months touring Allied countries to demonstrate how Britain won the 74-day Falklands conflict. —, London. -,
