Gloomy forecast
NZPA London A report by the British Confederation of Industry paints a gloomy picture of a continuing world slump. The report forecasts no growth in total output from countrries of the Organisation for Economic Co-opera-tion and Development this year, and growth of only 1.75
per cent next year. The “Financial Times," of London, said the report predicted a 2 per cent increase •in world trade, and a 2.5 per cent increase next year. This compares with growth of 4 per cent in 1981. According to the report, economic activity in Britain will increase little for the rest of the year.
