Physical Water Resources (Research and Survey) in Head Office. Water and soil Division. The Manager is responsible to the Research Director for planning water and soil research and survey programmes concerned with physical water resources throughout New Zealand, including relevant aspects of river mechanics and hydrology. The Water and Soil Division of MWD services the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority, the Water Resources Council and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council. Research is centred in three Science Centres at Christchurch (Physical Water Resource): Aokautere (Land Resources and Plant Materials) and Hamilton (Water Quality) whilst hydrological surveys are carried out by 16 field parties distributed throughout New Zealand. The appointee will co-ordinate physical water resource investigations within Water and Soil Division and liaise with other government agencies, catchment authorities and universities concerning related programmes of investigation. This is a senior post and applicants must have a good professional standing and wide experience in this field of activity, together with administrative ability. VAC 4468 INSPECTOR (HORTICULTURAL) WELLINGTON The requirement is for a mature person with parks and reserves experience preferably at a senior supervisory level.
