Largest range of ‘thrill rides’
This year, the New Zealand Industries Fair features the largest range of spectacular thrill seeking rides ever assembled in the South Island — worth many millions of dollars. As the New Zealand Industries Fair is the largest exhibition held annually in the South Island, it attracts a wide range of spectacular rides, which can only be brought here for shows which have large attendances. This year, the fair has a record number of these spectacular rides, some of which are worth over $200,000 each. Included are the Hurricane, Sizzler, Trabant, Roundup and Super Trouper, all of which provide thrills and excitement in a fastmoving whirl.
For those people who will not risk the excitement of some of the spectacular rides, there are the Crazy House, the Ghost Train, Ghost House, Mirror Maze and the Crazy Cottage.
For those who want the thrills of driving a racing car, there are two attractions, the Ferraris and the Transam cars.
As usual, one of the older but still very popular attractions is the Scenic Wheel.
For the younger children, there are rides including the ever popular merry-go-round, carousels and Kiddies Kars.
Alongside all these rides are the numerous side show stalls, some of which are run by sports clubs and other organisations.
