S.P.I.R. leader to S. Africa

The national organiser of S.P.I.R; (New Zealand Organisation for Sporting Freedom), Mrs Elizabeth Sutherland, of Christchurch, will leave this morning. for a four-week “informative” visit to South Africa. Mrs Sutherland, who will report back to S.P.I.R:, is going at the invitation of the South African Olympic and National Games Association. The association, and private sponsors.in South Africa, are paying for her visit. She will visit the Ellis Park rugby stadium in Johannesburg, meet sports representatives, and look at ways-of breaking down political barriers in sports contacts, she says. . - She hoped to meet people from different backgrounds.
